Before you skip brushing read this

Do you not feel like brushing?

What are you telling yourself?

I don’t have time in the morning.

I am too tired before bed.

So, days go by, and you don’t brush?

Let’s face it; you do have time!

You are not too tired!

You just don’t think or feel that it is crucial!

People do what is important to them!

Did you know one out of two people have gingivitis?

Did you know it is a silent disease?

Most people don’t even know they have it!

What is gingivitis anyway?

Gingivitis is puffy bleeding gums.

You are saying my gums don’t bleed. They might not if you are not brushing them. Once you do get the brush along the gum line, they may start bleeding. Most people miss the upper top outside molars and the lower back inside molar teeth.

Gingivitis is caused by bacteria, and you are not getting the plaque off around the gums.

Depending on how you brush, you may not be getting the areas that would be bleeding, so you don’t see the blood. That bacteria enter your bloodstream and contribute to heart disease, kidney disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, erectile dysfunction, preterm delivery.

You can pass that bacteria to a loved one, by kissing, sharing drinks or utensils.

Gingivitis is 100 % reversible, but only by you and only you, brush your teeth every day. Or at least you should be brushing at least two times a day.

What will you do? Pass it on or make a conscious decision to do something about it?

It is as simple as brushing all the areas of your mouth, taking your time using your toothbrush as the tool it was meant to be. I say it is not a magic wand. Yet it can be if you use it properly.

For things to change, you need to change. You need to change the way you view toothbrushing. What is it going to be? Continue to do the same thing you have always done and gained the results you have always obtained or taken the two minutes twice a day to get all the plaque off.

You cannot just wave it around in your mouth, move fast, and furious about and expect it to do the job. However, if you take your time to brush the inside and outside getting all the gums and the teeth creating a system and stick to it…it is like magic… the bleeding goes away, and your gums are healthy. Abracadabra!

Every successful plan starts with a mindset and with a system. What will your system be when it comes to the health of your mouth and, ultimately, the health of your body.

It starts with making a conscious decision to brush your teeth morning and night two minutes. Once you master the two minutes, you can add flossing or Waterpik to your routine. Whichever works for you.

Preventing Dental disease starts at home with you. No one else but you!

What will you choose? To brush correctly or not brush properly, that is the question!
